The Way Christian Youth Center is thankful beyond words for free labor and/or equipment usage and expertise provided by Mitchell Construction (Thomas and Stoney Mitchell and team) of Cadiz and P’pool Concrete (James P’Pool) of Louisville. These companies talked with Sister Martha Davis and wanted to give back to the Community where they live (Mirchell’s) and/or have friends (P’Pool).

The Way is so honored to allow Lighthouse Medical School to use our facility two nights per week.Lighthouse is more than a medical school for Doctor(s) Cook ---Marie (MD) and Eric (Chaplaincy). It is a Ministry!!!! Thanks to their kindness, with a little "rent free" help from The Way, Lighthouse charges only a fraction of what other schools do. This has allowed many students to graduate and find jobs, obtain promotions, or often both.Lighthouse Medical School not only trains students but facilitates and proctors testing and helps students find internships and jobs which are life changing to them and their families. Very importantly, they also share the love of CHRIST in word and deed with each student.Since 2018, Lighthouse has graduated 85 students from their medical training program at The Way -----70 Medical Assistants, 2 EKG Technicians, 5 Phlebotomy Technicians, 1 Medical Biller, and 7 Pre Med-Technicians. Ten of these graduates are single mothers. Pictured Below are their most recent Medical Assistant graduates after receiving certifications for Phlebotomy. The Way's annual Dinner Theater, this year "Murder At The Banquet", was a huge success!!! Both performances (November 8th and 9th), were sold out, the acting was superb, the meal delicious, and the fellowship among Trigg Countians and friends unsurpassed. All proceeds from the event went towards construction of The Way's new Discipleship/Education building adjacent to the main facility. The facility will provide dedicated classrooms for: Christian, secular, and job skills training; a venue for faith based/family movies; programs for younger students not currently served by The Way; a youth oriented Christian Library for local Churches as well as The Way; prayer room; mentoring and counseling location, and much more. VOLUNTEER NEEDS. We are trying to have arts and craft activities each day. We have 8 or more students each day who will productively participate IF we have adults who will give up at least one day per month, from 4-5 PM. This time can be an especially fruitful opportunity to share CHRIST''s love. Volunteers do not have to be extremely talented. Activity options are almost limitless including drawing/coloring contests, making bracelets, crafting greeting cards for shut ins, military and others, and even fingernail painting and facials. Penny Mitchell does this as a ministry every Monday and we have commitments to do at least one Thursday each month from Eric and Marie Cook and Suzy Cox. We need volunteers for Tuesdays and Fridays. The Way is so proud of our sponsorship of/association with two outstanding Faith based scouting programs ----American Heritage Girls and Trail Life USA Boys. These programs are truly "GOD, Family, Country, and Character". Both Programs have great leadership and are growing. AHG Leaders include Dana Dodson, Sandra Finley, Katie Haley, Diane Duggins and others. Trail Life Leaders include Lance Gilliand, Josh Pryor, Justin Ramey, Gene Oller and Matthew Clark.The Way is very grateful to both programs for their assistance with its recent yard sale. It was amazing to see leaders, students and family members there from Thursday through Saturday to help with all aspects of the sale. DON'T WAIT TOO LONG TO GET YOUR TICKETS TO "MURDER AT THE BANQUET", the murder mystery being presented at The Way on Friday November 8th and Saturday November 9th. Thanks to Greta Smith for handling ticket sales and Kathy Gibson for coordinating/cooking the meal. Thanks to Martha Davis for sharing her expertise from having manager previous meals. So many individuals this week have remarked how much better the property looks and how much they enjoy parking improvements. Thanks to Bro.
