The Way is so blessed to have such wonderful Churches as partners in ministering to students. The dear Christians who come to provide food for our students do something much more important---- they share the love of CHRIST with students. Two of those who are such blessing are One Church and Calvary Missionary Baptist. The Sisters from One Church including Charity King and Cory Heck provide amazing arts and crafts opportunities for our students each time they bring food. There are always a dozen or so students who anxiously participate in ceramic painting, soap making, drawing, and a myriad of other creative activities One Church. Pictures below reflect an afternoon of painting Valentine's themes. Calvary Baptist is also a blessing in so many ways. Brother Don does great devotions and fellowships with students. Sister Dale is an invaluable member of the team which helps so many students at The Way's Clothes Closet each week. Bro. Clay truly has a servant's heart and helps in every way imaginable, from picking up bottled water at Hancock's and serving it at The Way to doing devotions, serving food, and cleaning up at days end. ... Sisters and Brothers in CHRIST,Praise to our LORD and thanks to the generosity of Trigg County Churches and Christians!!!!!The Way Christian Youth Ministries of Trigg County Kentucky, INC. has been selected by listeners of WKDZ radio and affiliates as THE BEST YOUTH CENTER IN THE AREA!!! This is the first year youth center's have been included!!! The Way is truly honored to have been selected. Only GOD knew in 2011, when HE opened our doors for the first time, the plans HE had for HIS ministry called "The Way". HE knew that almost 14 years later, HIS non profit, all volunteer, multi-denominational youth ministry to middle and high school students, at no charge, would provide so much to the approximately 300 plus students each year (average of over 70 each day) which enter its doors.While our short-term focus was on "just" an after-school place to share CHRIST's love, in word and deed, with students, our Amazing GOD was already laying the spiritual foundation for so many ways to accomplish. In 2017, HE blessed us with a 12,000 SF facility, with gym, kitchen and activities areas to host daily devotions; complimentary meals from Churches and organizations; countless activities; prolific faith based scouting programs; secular and Christian educational classes; etc.; It also serves as host to senior citizen exercise ministries, HCC Adult Education Program, a small medical school, and various Trigg School, Chamber of Commerce, and other community services; including being the primary "warming center" for Trigg County. In 2023, GOD opened renovated tobacco barn to house a teen clothes closet serving 15-20 students each week, plus others in the community. The next step in GOD's plans to bless Trigg County, is a 3,500 SF Education/Discipleship building scheduled for completion in May and open to students in the fall. Additional and dedicated classrooms, faith based and family movies, periodic programs for young students, mentoring programs, Christian youth library for the entire community, and a prayer/counseling "chapel" are "just" a few of the blessings of which we are aware. GOD's plans, as is HIS love, are beyond measure!!!. The Way is truly an example of what GOD will do when Christians work together towards the common goal of sharing CHRIST's love in word and deed!!! HE will continue blessing as long as those of us who serve HIM, by caring for students, are faithful. Thanks to our volunteers who sacrificially serve to bring HIM glory by making an eternal difference in the lives of students! Journey G. (center) being presented by Bro(s) Luke Terrell and Nic Griffey. Journey made a decision to accept CHRIST last fall and recently rededicated her life to grow closer to CHRIST.NOTE: The Way is extremely sad to say goodbye to Bro. Nic as he follows the LORD's leadership to accept a Youth Minister position at a Church not far from Elizabethtown. The Way is so grateful to Bro. Nic for his service to and love of students both at The Way and Cadiz Baptist Church. The weather closures this week prevented us from the celebratory send off we would have liked to have done. Congratulations to The Way's Junior High Chess Team, coached by Pat Crane and assisted by Nathan Phelps and Matthew Crane, for their success yesterday (Saturday February 15th) at the Commonwealth Regional Chess Championship in Paducah Kentucky. The Middle School Team of (1st picture L-R)) of Steven Bauman, Caden Counce, Henry Bearshears, and Daniel Bauman finished 3rd and qualified for the Commonwealth Championship competition in Lexington. Cayden Counce (2nd picture), Jacoby King (3rd picture), both received individual Junior Hight awards and Payton Rojas (4th picture) for High School. A special thanks to Bro. Have a few pictures (the last ones --I think—from 2024) which are just some fun ones about our students. Please see below.Also, wanted to promote a movie, which has been in theaters the past couple months and is now on pay for view. (The Heckmann's saw it in both venues). The Director is the creator of "The Chosen". It is a remake and improvement of a 1983 movie made for TV starring "MASH's" Loretta Swit."The Best CHRISTmas Pageant Ever" is a wonderful, funny, uplifting movie which is worth the price of admission/rental on those facts alone. However, I urge you to see it because of the powerful message it has for both those who serve at and support The Way and for those Christians who "just don't get it". For those of us who do understand, it should be an affirmation and encouragement from GOD as to why we serve --because "JESUS also was born for the Herdman's", (the best line of the movie). The Herdman's were 5 children/siblings, with little if any parental guidance, reputations as "bad kids", not popular, unkempt, no understanding/knowledge of CHRIST's love or Biblical teachings, and looked down upon by the community and, sadly, Church goers. The Herdman's came to Church for "treats" but found something infinitesimally more valuable --- "The true meaning of The CHRISTmas story" in a way far too many Christians do not. ... PRAISE THE LORD FOR HIS MINISTRY AT THE WAY!!!!! HE HAS EXCEEDED OUR MOST WONDERFUL DREAMS AND EXPECTATIONS!!! When the LORD opened the doors of an old, long vacated storefront in May 2011, none of us ever imagined what GOD would do. We just knew GOD wanted a safe and productive place where students could go after school to experience the love of CHRIST in word and deed.Flash forward less than 14 years ---- thanks to the obedience of so many of you and the kindness of hundreds of Trigg County Christians GOD has accomplished so much-----a 12,000 square foot facility' soon a 3,500 SF Discipleship/Education building', a Youth Clothes Closet', two faith based scouting programs; over 100 Christian and secular training classes; mentoring program, Senior Citizen ministry; etc. and hosting a medical school, adult education program, school events, Special Olympics basketball, Chamber of Commerce job fairs, etc. Best of all more than 175 people have made professions of faith in CHRIST!!!!We are especially proud of the two-faith based scouting programs, American Heritage Girls and Trail Life USA Boys. In just a little over 3 years, they have gone from formation to viable growing programs with over 40 students enrolled and some absolutely fantastic leaders such as Dana Dodson, Diane Duggins, Sandy Finley, Katie Sumner, Diane Duggins, Julie Wadlington, Lance Gilliland, Josh Pryor, Justin Ramey, Matt Clark, Gene Oller, etc. etc. A special thanks to Christi Riggs and Lloyd Renfroe for their dedication and vision to help start these programs.Please see below pictures from the Cadiz CHRISTmas Parade. I don't know the judging criteria for parade floats, but if it were the character and spirit of its participants, this float/group would be second to none!!!!
